There’s a new tallest tower coming to Austin — no, another one.

Just two months after construction began on Waterline, the 74-story Rainey Street tower set to become the tallest in the skyline, plans for an even taller skyscraper were revealed: Wilson Tower.

The Fifth Street project — which will also become the tallest building in Texas — is anticipated to top out at 80 stories and 1,035 ft, just 13 ft higher than the Waterline development.

Austin Business Journal broke news of the announcement Monday morning. Construction is expected to begin next summer at 410 E. Fifth St., but here’s what we know so far:

  • 450 apartments
  • Almost 1.2 million sqft
  • Smallest floor plan: 471 sqft
  • Largest floor plan: 3,768 sqft
  • Plans for ground-floor restaurant and retail space
  • Amenities include a pool deck with food and beverage services, a wellness center, cocktail lounge, movie theater, coworking space, and pet playroom and grooming center
