Hot home: inside ICON’s 3D-printed neighborhood in Wimberley

The neighborhood’s model home is now open for prospects to get a taste of ICON’s most luxurious and largest abodes to date.

A modern, open-concept living room with curved 3D-printed walls, large floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and polished concrete floors. The space features neutral-toned furniture, including beige sofas, rounded chairs, and minimalist side tables. Potted plants, books, and vases are arranged as decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. A ceiling fan and recessed lighting complete the look.

ICON 3D Tech’s newest slate of homes in Wimberley, just 40 miles south of Austin, is ready for their first look.

Located in Wimberley Springs, the model home for the neighborhood is open for tours. The area contains eight single-family homes with four floorplans, ranging from ~2,900 to ~4,100 sqft and starting at ~$885,500.

The homes are currently available for presale and inquiries.

Folks are invited to tour The AlphaBeta Z home, an open floor plan design meant to blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. At 4,115 sqft, the four-bedroom and three-and-a-half-bathroom home was built in five months, which is about half the time of a typical build the same size. The home, the largest in the slate, is listed for $1,299,000.

Houses can also be upgraded to smooth out the walls.

Inside, the home features ICON’s signature curved walls and two parallel structures that are connected by the living room, with floor-to-ceiling windows on two walls.

The smallest floor plan, Ranch Mesa, features five bedrooms and three-and-a-half-bathrooms at 2,920 sqft. The long, rectangular design has bedrooms at each corner, a living room in the center, and a detached garage.

From ICON’s AlphaBeta and TexNext collections, the dwellings in the new neighborhood are ICON’s most spacious yet. Here are some quick facts about the homes:

  • They contain four to five bedrooms.
  • They’re made with CarbonX, ICON’s proprietary low-carbon material.
  • The walls are energy efficient and durable enough to withstand wind speeds of up to 250 mph.
  • Dwellings are equipped with smart doorbells and thermostats.
  • The neighborhood is located three miles from the center of Wimberley.

These homes aren’t the only 3D-printed digs in the Austin area. ICON debuted its Wolf Ranch neighborhood in Georgetown in 2022, the East 17th Street residences in 2021, and plans to build 100 new homes for the chronically unhoused at Community First! Village.
