Austin locals looking for a whimsical way to celebrate International Fairy Day on Monday, June 24 are in for a treat — faeries are still inhabiting their ATX vacation homes for the next few weeks.

The annual Woodland Faerie Trail at Zilker Botanical Garden is on exhibit now in the Oak Grove. Visitors will find 75 faerie homes carefully crafted by community members and local school groups.

Here’s how to make the most of the experience:

  • Embark on a scavenger hunt to find hidden gems. Stop by the gift shop to receive clues.
  • Vote for your favorite cottages in a community competition.
  • Avoid any spell-binding disturbances by refraining from touching the faeries’ homes.

The faerie neighborhood will be removed on Saturday, July 13, so take in the magic now before the fairy dust settles.
