Super Bowl LIX is rapidly approaching, and just because a Texas team won’t be in the Caesars Superdome doesn’t mean we’re missing out on Lone Star State representation.

Cheer on these 14 Texas athletes taking to the gridiron, including four athletes with Austin-area ties. Plus, don’t miss the halftime show by Kendrick Lamar — who has appeared on an episode of “Austin City Limits” — and SZA.

    $27.5 million. That’s how much of a cash infusion UT received from its first year in the SEC. The conference distributed $808.4 million to its 16 members, which each received $52.5 million, except newcomers Texas and Oklahoma. (CBS)

    Real estate company Realtor.com is moving its headquarters from California to the Capital City. The company, which already has an office in east Austin with ~400 employees, said it plans to add hundreds of jobs to the area in the future. (Austin Business Journal)

    Font, Good Looks, and Superfónicos are all slated to perform at the 43rd annual Austin Music Awards on Sunday, March 2 at Antone’s Nightclub. Tickets to celebrate with the local musicians are on sale now, starting at $20.

    Online entertainment company Rooster Teeth, which closed down after 20 years about a year ago, is making a resurgence. Burnie Burns, one of the original founders, acquired the Austin-based brand’s assets through his company Box Canyon Productions with plans to relaunch. (Austin Business Journal)

    Theater

    Bet your bottom dollar that Broadway in Austin tickets for “Annie” go on sale today. The show runs Friday, May 2-Sunday, May 4 at Bass Concert Hall and tickets start at $35.

    Development

    The city of Kyle, 20 minutes south of Austin, is working on a plan to create the fifth-largest skate park in Texas. The 28,000-34,000 sqft park would cost $3.4 million and be all-wheels, meaning it would be open to skateboarders, cyclists, skaters, scooter riders, wheelchair users, and any other wheels. (KVUE)

    Austin is in for a pretty pink treat: the Malibu Barbie Cafe.

    Inspired by 1970s Malibu beaches and Barbara Millicent Roberts herself, the all-ages experience will pop up from Friday, April 4 through Sunday, June 15 at Wanderlust Wine Co. Downtown.
