Paint the town pink at the Malibu Barbie Cafe pop-up

The Malibu Barbie Cafe will stop in Austin for two months starting in early April, bringing a skate rink, restaurant, and Barbiecore activities.

An outdoor Barbie-themed roller-skating rink with people skating under string lights at dusk. The space features vibrant pink, orange, and teal decor, with a large "Barbie" sign on a colorful backdrop. A mix of skaters in casual and retro-inspired outfits glide across the lavender-colored rink, while others relax near palm plants and seating areas. A skate rental station and a sunset-themed mural are visible in the background.

Austin is in for a pretty pink treat: the Malibu Barbie Cafe.

Inspired by 1970s Malibu beaches and Barbara Millicent Roberts herself, the all-ages experience will pop up from Friday, April 4 through Sunday, June 15 at Wanderlust Wine Co. Downtown.

The traveling cafe — which has also visited New York, Miami, Chicago, and Houston — has more than two months’ worth of fun in store. Here’s what to expect.

A Barbie-themed café with a vibrant pink interior, decorated with retro and tropical elements. The bar counter features a colorful wave pattern with white barstools, and pink metallic cups are neatly arranged on the countertop. A neon "Malibu Barbie Café" sign is mounted on the wall, alongside golden palm tree decals. A screen displays "Barbie Princess Adventure," and disco balls hang from the ceiling, reflecting light. A small enclosed area in the background has a beach-inspired mural with pastel tones and Barbie-themed decorations.

The all-ages experience will host themed nights like cupcake decorating and painting parties.
