It’d be a lot cooler if you did.
Today is National Voter Registration Day, which encourages Americans to make sure their paperwork is up to date to vote for the upcoming election.
To celebrate, here’s a quick guide to voter registration in ATX.
Check your voter registration status
If you recently moved to Austin or changed your name, you may need to update your voter registration status. If not, it’s still best to double check and make sure everything’s ready to go ahead of the general election in November.
Find your registration status on the Travis County Clerk Elections Division’s website and view a sample ballot. It only takes a few seconds to fill out.

Does anyone else remember flipping through Guinness World Records books as a kid and thinking how cool it would be to set one? Well, a number of Austinites have.
From the “smallest test tube experiment” to the “heaviest ball of dog hair,” let’s look through the most impressive titles claimed right here in ATX.
Austin’s most recent Guinness World Record was huge — 12 ft by 24 ft to be exact. A 1,000-lb charcuterie board (540 lbs of cured meats, 240 lbs of cheese, 130 lbs of fruits + olives, and 90 lbs of spreads) was declared the world’s largest last Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the first Central Market location on North Lamar Boulevard.
It beat the existing record by 230+ lbs, but best of all, it had to be eaten to win the record — watch its creation.
