This is UT’s debut season in the Southeastern Conference (alongside rivals Oklahoma and Texas A&M), which topped CBS Sports’ 2024 College Football Power Rankings. Starting quarterback Quinn Ewers has appeared on lists calling him one of the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy, and practice scrimmages show he’s just getting started.

Upcoming home games

  • UTSA Roadrunners | Saturday, Sept. 14 | 6 p.m.
  • ULM Warhawks | Saturday, Sept. 21 | 7 p.m.
  • Mississippi State Bulldogs | Saturday, Sept. 28 | TBD
Both of the games against UT’s main rivals are away — the Longhorns will take on OU on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas and Texas A&M on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Kyle Field in College Station. View the full schedule or get tickets.

Where to watch

A cozy, well-lit restaurant interior with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The space features a long bar with high stools, surrounded by wooden floors and high ceilings. The decor is a mix of vintage and contemporary styles, with exposed brick walls, industrial lighting, and ceiling fans. The restaurant's menu is prominently displayed on a board above the bar, and there are shelves filled with bottles and decorations, adding to the charm. Large windows at the back allow natural light to stream in, creating a bright and airy environment.

Grab a drink, your sports-loving crew, and head to Uptown Sports Club to watch the game.

Back-to-school is on the mind, and this time next year, UT Austin’s program catalog will look a bit bigger.

At least four new programs will accept their inaugural classes within the next year — here’s what they are.

Computational Engineering | Fall 2024 | This five-year integrated bachelor’s and master’s degree program builds upon existing interdisciplinary computing degrees at the school.

Bachelor of Public Affairs | Fall 2025 | This program — which has historically only been open to graduate students — will teach policy analysis, data analytics, and leadership + management skills.

Semiconductor science and engineering | Fall 2025 | Part of the Master of Science in Engineering program, this major is meant to fill demand for semiconductor scientists by teaching students to manufacture the devices.

School of Civic Leadership | Fall 2025 | Available as a major in civics honors, a minor in civics, and a minor in PPE (philosophy, politics, and economics), these students will study America’s founding principles and economic foundations.
