Malin the troll is the first Thomas Dambo sculpture in Texas and the 129th in the world.

Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and the weather is regularly hitting 90º here in Austin. Spring is officially here, and we’re coming up with a few bucket list activities we’re eyeing up for the season:

  • Take a stroll through Pease Park’s serene trails to visit Malin the troll.
  • Round Rock Express will return to the Dell Diamond soon — nothing says spring like tickets for a ballgame.
  • When the sun comes out, a drink on the patio at one of these rooftop bars is in order.

We’d love to hear what you’re planning to do this spring — send in your ideas and we’ll add them to the bucket list.

Whew. I had a blast at SXSW, but I’m ready to return to my typical sleep schedule. If you didn’t make it out this year and feel the FOMO, I would suggest perusing our list of festivals that are yet to come in 2026.

Stay tuned for some takeaways from our panels, but in the meantime, here’s a selfie I took with Lisa Kudrow, who was in town for her premiere of “The Comeback” season 3.
