What to know before you go to Creek Show 2024

There’s more to Creek Show than meets the eye.

A neon light installation featuring geometric, rectangular shapes in various colors including green, orange, and purple. The shapes are suspended and reflected in water on the ground below. The scene is illuminated with purple lighting from above, creating a contrasting dark and vibrant environment. The installation is set under an industrial structure with visible concrete beams on the ceiling.

Creek Show has been brightening the night in Austin for a decade.

Waller Creek will soon glow in the light of fantastical art for Creek Show 2024, which runs Friday, Nov. 8 through Saturday, Nov. 16.

For its 10th anniversary exhibition, Waterloo Greenway called upon alumni artists to create illuminated masterpieces like floating eyes, a glowing sea skeletal creature, an interactive school of fish, and more. Take a peek at the preview here.

Before you head to the creek, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The event runs nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. and requires an online reservation to attend. Tickets are available now, and all proceeds benefit Waterloo Greenway’s community programs.
  • Limited paid street + garage parking is available, so event-goers are encouraged to bike, use public transit, or take a rideshare.
  • Each night at Creek Show has a special theme or event, like a Veterans Day experience, a night featuring free general admission, a “Vodka for Dog People Night” presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and special vendor markets. View the schedule to plan your visit.
  • Local businesses are participating in the occasion, with an on-site Tiff’s Treats truck benefiting Waterloo Greenway and pop-ups like Creek Show Lounge at Swim Club. The bar + restaurant is located at the end of the Waller Creek trail and will feature family-friendly games, music, and special food and drinks.
  • Creek Show attendees can grab free wristbands that will land them deals at participating businesses in the Red River Cultural District. Think: free entry at Barbarella until 10:30 p.m. (where you can order a Creek Show-themed cocktail), a $4 pizza slice at Hoboken Pie, 15% off food items at Hyatt House Austin Downtown’s H Bar, and more.
  • Austinites can meet the Creek Show artists and listen to a moderated discussion at Downright Austin on Sunday, Nov. 10. See more details.
