Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 11, and we’re ready to celebrate.

News Notes

Festival

ACL Festival teased potential upcoming performers with a series of postcards sent out to fans. Redditors shared their postcards, hinting at appearances from Sabrina Carpenter, Hozier, Role Model, Empire of the Sun, and Latin Mafia.

Travel

Delta Air Lines will launch a new nonstop route between Austin and Palm Springs, California, starting in November. Flights to the Sonoran Desert city will run daily at 11 a.m. and depart for Austin at 12:07 p.m. Keep that in mind for Coachella 2026.

Biz

The Moody Center will expand access to the Moët & Chandon Impérial Lounge for the first time since the venue’s opening in 2022. A small number of new memberships are now available for purchase and include priority access to events, VIP parking, a private entrance, and more.

Concert

Here’s some “Mystical Magical” news — singer Benson Boone will bring his “American Heart” tour to the Moody Center on Friday, Sept. 19. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 9.

Opening

Burlington Coat Factory will take over both of Austin’s former Joann Fabric and Crafts spaces on Sunday, June 1. The discount clothing retailer currently has six stores, soon to be eight, in the Austin area. (Austin Business Journal)

Announced

The Drop-In, aka The Long Center’s free summer concert series, will return on Thursday, May 22 and feature weekly shows through mid-August. The local lineup includes Nané ft. Quentin Arispe, Mama Duke, Blakchyl, Geto Gala, Superfónicos, and many more performances on the 3D-printed stage.

Zadok Jewelers has a new showroom open at The Domain. It’s the second location for the family-run, Houston-based fine jeweler, which supplies brands like IWC Schaffhausen, Panerai, Rolex, Jaeger Le-Coultre, BVLGARI, and its own in-house collection.
