Austin Habitat for Humanity has been on a mission to help locals achieve home ownership for the last 40 years. | Renderings via Austin Habitat for Humanity
Austin Habitat for Humanity is currently accepting applications for a new stretch of homes in Whisper Valley, the first geothermal neighborhood in Travis County.
The nonprofit will build 48 single-family homes exclusively available to middle-income earners, with prices ranging from $230,000 to $245,000. Buyers can also utilize 100% financing, meaning a down payment isn’t required to purchase a house.
In addition to Austin Habitat for Humanity’s qualifying factors, the 2025 income limits for applicants are as follows:
One-person household: up to $68,500
Two-person household: up to $78,250
Three-person household: up to $88,050
Four-person household: up to $97,800
The homes will be built in phases over the next several years, and construction efforts will kick off in October through the 2025 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. During the initiative, volunteers will come together to build 25 homes in one week.
