📺 Austinites on the small screen

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in Super Bowl LIX this weekend, and though we won’t see any Texas teams in the game, there will be plenty of Austin representation in the commercials.

Austinite and jack-of-all-trades Matthew McConaughey will be front and center in Uber Eats commercials. If you watched the NFL playoffs, you may have already seen him playing famous former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka or explaining game food conspiracy theories.

Not only that, but Glen Powell will rock a long, blond wig for Ram Trucks during this year’s ad breaks.

Suffice to say, some of Austin’s most famous residents will grace your TV screens this weekend. While we have you, let’s take a peek at some other Austin icons’ Super Bowl commercial appearances.

🍳 Brunch a bunch

A table set at an outdoor restaurant with a bowl of whipped cheese topped with diced tomatoes, herbs, and nuts, accompanied by pieces of toasted flatbread. Three cocktails are in the background: a pale yellow drink in a wine glass with a sprig of thyme, a dark espresso martini in a coupe glass, and a pink beverage in a tall glass with a black straw. The setting features wicker chairs, a potted plant, and natural light streaming through open windows.
