Don’t fret, we’re here to help you out. We’ve compiled a guide to fostering new friendships in the Capital City, including clubs, classes, apps, and activities.
One of the best ways to make friends is to surround yourself with people who have similar interests. Whether that be an artistic hobby like painting or photography or learning how to grow fruit — there are classes you can join.

🔆 Let’s glow to the creek
Creek Show has been brightening the night in Austin for a decade. | Photo by ATXtoday
Waller Creek will soon glow in the light of fantastical art for Creek Show 2024, which runs Friday, Nov. 8 through Saturday, Nov. 16.
For its 10th anniversary exhibition, Waterloo Greenway called upon alumni artists to create illuminated masterpieces like floating eyes, a glowing sea skeletal creature, an interactive school of fish, and more. Take a peek at the preview here.
Before you head to the creek, here are a few things to keep in mind:
The event runs nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. and requires an online reservation to attend. Tickets are available now, and all proceeds benefit Waterloo Greenway’s community programs.
Each night at Creek Show has a special theme or event, like a Veterans Day experience, a night featuring free general admission, a “Vodka for Dog People Night” presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and special vendor markets. View the schedule to plan your visit.
I’m planning a trip to Fredericksburg next weekend for my best friend’s birthday. Do you have a favorite winery, restaurant, or boutique? Send it my way.
