Austin Energy will increase its rates for the fourth time in the past year starting Wednesday, Nov. 1. The change is expected to add ~$1.50 monthly to the average resident’s bill. (KXAN)

Preservation Austin is celebrating its first-ever Legacy Business Month with a little friendly competition. Community members are invited to pick up a free passport — either at BookPeople or Zilker Taproom— featuring 13 local businesses, visit them throughout October, and compete for prizes.
Development
MML Hospitality has unveiled plans for its first mixed-use development: Sixth&Blanco. The Clarksville development will feature a hotel, shops, art galleries, 10 private homes, and public gardens. (Austin Monthly)

Winner, winner, Fresa’s chicken dinner. Fresa’s Chicken Al Carbon will open its third location tomorrow at 3600 N. Capital of Texas Hwy. The new restaurant spans 6,000 sqft, offers 160 indoor seats, 38 outdoor seats, and scenic Hill Country views.

Jive Turkey, a new food truck concept by first-year Texas Longhorns wide receiver Deandre Moore and his mother, is now open at 1637 E. Riverside Dr. Get ready to gobble down some turkey-forward comfort food like turkey burgers, turkey tacos, and mac + cheese.

ATX Open returns for the second year in a row

The ATX Open will return to Austin for the second year in a row this spring.
One of just a few women’s-only professional tennis tournaments in the country, the ATX Open will once again take place at the Westwood Country Club from Feb. 24 to March 3, 2024.
The inaugural event attracted nearly 18,000 fans, and the 2024 event has a few changes in store, including:

Expanded hospitality offerings
New Owners’ Club with views of the Grandstand Court
Opening weekend qualifying matches
Opening weekend fan activities
Tickets, ranging between $28-$735 per package, go on sale Monday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. Stay tuned for the full list of players announcement in January.
