Did you sea the news? Seafood food truck Huckleberry will open at a new location this Sat., July 2. The tide-to-table mobile eatery is moving from its location at The Far Out Lounge & Stage to Still Austin Whiskey Co.

Owned by Texas native Chef Davis Turner + Florida native Melinda Reese, this Gulf Coast-focused food truck serves Austinites seafood that is sustainably sourced. Farm to Table, an Austin-based produce distributor that works with 100+ farmers, ranchers, and food artisans, is one of the food truck’s main suppliers.

“We wanted to go a broader way of taking the farm to table approach,” Turner said. “It was being as cautious and thoughtful with what we get from the Gulf as you would for any farm or ranch.”

Huckleberry has been recognized as a “Best New Restaurant” by the Austin American-Statesman, and is a 2022 James Beard Foundation Smart Catch Leader, which is a group that consists of restaurants that are committed to serving seafood that is produced sustainably.

Guests can expect favorites such as the Gulf Coast fish and shrimp sandwiches, po’boys, smash burgers, fish platters, and seasonal sides. Also, keep an eye out for meatloaf patty melts, pimento cheese dips, and rotating specials.

Chef Turner is also expanding the menu to incorporate more southern comfort foods, and there will be lunch and weekend brunch options.

“We want that customer to have a [good] experience from the minute they’ve seen the trailer, the menu, smell the food, and get it on a plate,” Reese said.

Huckleberry’s operating hours are Wednesday-Friday from 12-9 p.m + Saturday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Still Austin Whiskey Co. is located at 440 E. St. Elmo Rd.
