Inside Frankie’s Supper Club at Uptown Sports Club

The Sunday dinner service from Aaron Franklin harkens back to Midwestern dinners and family-style meal traditions that began back in the early 1900s.

Aaron Franklin’s love letter to Midwestern dinners is back for its second year in a row.

Frankie’s Supper Club — a white-tablecloth, family-style dinner — is held every Sunday through February 2026 at Uptown Sports Club. The event is inspired by Milwaukee native Lawrence Frank, who is believed to have inspired the tradition in Beverly Hills in the early 1900s, and Franklin’s love for a weekly service.

The restaurant transforms into a moody, candlelit space offering a special à la carte menu not typically served on Uptown’s menu.

Each service starts with a complimentary glass of prosecco, a relish tray, and a soup or salad. We tried it for ourselves to let you know our favorites:

For the drinks, “A Moment In Time” is a theatrical sip that packs a little zing. Once it’s brought to the table, servers top it with a flaming dried lime slice. The crab cake and tuna crudo (which is topped with lemon and capers) get the meal started with some coastal and fresh flavors.

Can’t miss entrées, which are meant to be shared, include:

  • The 20-oz dry-aged bone-in ribeye
  • The pork schnitzel
  • The fried cod (which our Midwestern-born server said reminded her of a fish fry back home)
  • Plus, these dinners pair perfectly with sides of sweet potatoes and braised mushrooms

If you have room for dessert, don’t skip the chocolate espresso cake with an amaro pairing, or a boozy “Pink Squirrel” milkshake.

Figi here. Our choices were so delicious, we almost couldn’t pick favorites. By the way, bring your friends and family for the optimal experience, and note that the menu changes with the season so you can enjoy the freshest dishes. Grab a reservation.
