When Austinites are trick-or-treating

Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year. When are Austinites heading out to trick-or-treat?

Since Halloween falls on a school and work night this year (Tuesday), we recently asked when you all plan to go trick-or-treating.

If you’re wondering when to prep the candy bowls and dress up the kiddos, here’s what to know:

  • We’ve got purists here. Everyone who voted in our poll said that they’ll be trick-or-treating on Halloween itself, Oct. 31.
  • As for the time, most folks responded that they’ll trick-or-treat around 5-7 p.m., though we did get a couple late-nighters who said they’ll make the rounds from 7-9 p.m.

Respondents said that they’ll visit neighborhoods like Legend Oaks, Woodland Hills, North Austin, Hyde Park, and Cedar Park this year — if you live in one of these spots, make sure to stock up.

If you’re not keen on neighborhood trick-or-treating, check out our roundup of other spots to fill your candy bag this year in Austin.
