Baldinucci opens first brick and mortar

The pizzeria was formerly located in GhostLine Kitchens.

Although it’s nestled in West Lake Hills, stepping into Baldinucci Pizza Romana is meant to feel like a casual Italian streetside pizzeria.

Growing up in their Italian father’s pizzeria in Long Island, New York, twin brothers Gabriel and Salvatore Baldinucci learned to perfect a pie at a young age. Now joined with Sal’s wife Patricia, the team aims to share their culinary influences with Austin.

The new location at 3300 Bee Cave Rd. serves two types of pizza: New York style and Roman, a square pie made with a thick + airy dough that “blends food and art.”

We tried a slice — okay, a few — for ourselves.

Our favorites were the Sausage + Honey and Diablo Roman slices. But if you only try one slice, get the Nonna, a classic cheese with crushed tomato and garlic — it’s Chef Sal’s favorite.

Baldinucci held its grand opening yesterday, and is now open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tues.-Sun. Check out the menu here.
