Good job, dedicated Austinite. If you’re getting this, it means you’re already one of the most informed + connected Bat City residents (or at least you’re about to be).

Welcome to ATXtoday. 🎉 We’re excited to deliver you news about the latest and greatest this city has to offer every weekday at 6 a.m.

To kick us off, we want to share 4 reasons why we just love living here.

🌳 Parks

Besides the beloved 351-acre Zilker Park , Austin is home to Mayfield Park where beautiful peacocks roam freely and Pease Park , which includes an amazing treehouse that you have to see to believe.

🎸 “Live Music Capital of the World

From the 2-weekend festival that is ACL Fest to the week of magical music + fun during SXSW , it’s safe to say Austin has rightfully earned this title.

👟 Hike and bike trails

The hike up the 106 stairs to the top of Mt. Bonnell is worth climbing to see one of the best views of Austin. Bikers can also head to bike trails like the Violet Crown Trail and enter through the various trailheads.

🌮 Food

Three words: food truck parks. Austin is home to many food truck parks like The Picnic on Barton Springs Road + the World’s Largest Longhorn Food Court behind the UT Co-Op — complete with a large Longhorn in the lot.

As if we needed even more of a reason to love Austin, just this year, the city has earned the titles of one of the best capital cities to live in America, No. 5 best places to live in the US , No. 5 best places to live in Texas , and No. 13 top city in the entire country by the World’s Best Awards.

We’re thrilled to be in Austin and look forward to showing you just how special it is.
