How to participate in the first-ever Austin Texas Book Trail

The bookish event takes place across the Austin area this Saturday, April 27. Here’s what to know before you hit the roads.

Book lovers, do we have some news for you.

The first ever Austin Texas Book Trail takes place this Saturday, April 27 — which just happens to be Independent Bookstore Day.

The day-long event involves 25 local bookstores, kickoff and closing events, opportunities to connect with other readers, and major discounts.

Ready to read? Here’s the itinerary for the day.

9-11 a.m. | Attend the kickoff breakfast at Mañana Dos (111 Sandra Muraida Way, Ste. #101) for free coffee and tacos + your Book Trail map.

11 a.m.-5 p.m. | Visit as many bookstores as you can, marking your trail map for each store you visit. Each visited store = one raffle entry for the wind-down event at the end of the day.

5-7 p.m. | Close the day with raffle prizes and pop-ups from Vignette Books, Livra Rare Books, and Spend Time Zine Mart at Better Half Coffee & Cocktails (406 Walsh St.). Raffle prizes include books, bookish gifts, and gift cards.
