Step into the land of “Landman” at the Paramount+ Lodge. | Photo by ATXtoday
Yesterday marked the first day of SXSW, and your friendly neighborhood ATXtoday editor hit the ground running. Here’s what I was up to on SXSW day one.
Touring Paramount +'s The Lodge, where we grabbed a drink and toured mock sets of “Landman” and “Survivor 50.”
Seeing “I Love Boosters,” starring Keke Palmer, which will be released for public viewing in late May.
Attending a DJ set at the Austin Proper Hotel, which is hosting programming that is open to the public, like this DJ set from Questlove.
The Buy
Our secret to dinner party compliments galore + unforgettable family feasts: artisan sourdough, pastries, and pasta from Wildgrain. Standout offerings include slow-fermented olive oil ciabatta, fresh rigatoni, lemon ginger biscuits, sourdough dinner rolls, and pepperoni pizza buns. Is your mouth watering yet? Our readers get $30 off their first order and free croissants for life.
Editor Morgan and I capped off the evening with a DJ set from Electric Guest, a longtime favorite band of mine. Its lead vocalist is Asa Taccone, the brother of Jorma Taccone, aka a member of The Lonely Island. If you’re interested in listening to Electric Guest’s music, I recommend starting with the song “Birthday.”
