Texas Performing Arts’ upcoming Broadway in Austin season is going to steal the show at the Bass Concert Hall. The 2026-2027 slate features 11 performances — an all-time high for Bass Concert Hall — with seven premieres and four returning shows.

Austin Wildlife Rescue plans to open a larger intake center after securing approval from Austin City Council. The organization, which helped 10,000 animals last year, is currently operating in Elgin and has a temporary intake facility in Austin. (KXAN)

Half Price Books will move out of its longtime space at 2929 S. Lamar Blvd., where it has operated for 30+ years, and move to South 1st Street. The Dallas-based chain currently operates six stores in the Austin area. (Austin American-Statesman)

Jelly Roll is set to headline Mack, Jack & McConaughey Gala, aka the annual fundraising effort by Jack Ingram, Mack Brown, and Matthew McConaughey. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 13. Ryan Bingham, Kaitlin Butts, and Robert Earl Keen will also perform the next day.

H-E-B’s annual Quest for Texas Best competition, a challenge to find Texas-made products to feature on the grocery store’s shelves, will begin accepting applicants tomorrow, March 11 through Wednesday, April 22. Winners will share a $100,000 prize pool — learn how to enter.
