Here are a few of City Editor Figi’s recommendations.
Austin City Council approved an ordinance to allow police officers to fine drivers up to $500 for excessively loud engines (aka over 85 decibels), after repeated complaints from residents near RM 2222 west of Loop 360. Officers have a 30-day grace period to issue verbal or written warnings before the ordinance goes into effect. (Austin American-Statesman)

History
Paleontologists recently discovered a new species of Spinosaurus in the Sahara Desert. They believe the dinosaur lived roughly 95 million years ago and weighed up to seven tons. There’s no need to travel across the world to uncover our planet’s history — we have plenty on display at Austin’s museums. (Reuters)
