✨ Play tourist on Burnet Road

ATX_FromAustinWithLove

Ah, Burnet Road. In recent years, this 7.2-mile roadway in north Austin has become a major up-and-coming thoroughfare, leading from Rosedale all the way to Q2 Stadium and The Domain.

Hang on tight, we’ll show you around.

Coffee shops + breakfast: Try the new breakfast cafe First Watch, grab a pick-me-up alongside your furry friend at Dog Day Coffee, or stay all day for coffee and a cocktail at Turnstile Bar and Restaurant.

Lunch + dinner: Try the rotating menu from MICHELIN Star-holding Barley Swine, nosh on a wood-fired Neapolitan pizza from Bufalina Due, or have some classic burgers from Top Notch.

Go secondhand shopping: Get that retro loveseat you’ve been dreaming of at Room Service Vintage, or peruse gently used clothing at Uptown Cheapskate.

Go to an Austin FC Game: Get your blood pumping at a home game, because exploring Q2 Stadium (aka “Austin’s biggest party”) is half the fun.

Asked

How well do you remember the news from July?

A large crowd gathers on a grassy lawn in downtown Austin for an outdoor event called "Beats, Cleats & Eats," as shown on multiple red digital screens. The stage features colorful lights and music performances. Modern skyscrapers frame the scene, and a vivid double rainbow arcs across the cloudy sky at sunset.

Austinites enjoyed a week-long party to celebrate the MLS All-Stars Game coming to town. | Photo by ATXtoday

Pop quiz. We want to know how well you’ve been keeping up with the headlines, because July was an action-packed month in ATX.

Between hosting the MLS All-Stars Game and Austinites auditioning for TV shows, there was a lot to catch. Pssst — don’t forget to drop your name at the end so we can credit our top scorers in an upcoming newsletter.

The Wrap

The story of Taylor and Noodles makes me tear up because there is no way I would be able to function if one of my cats went missing. If you have a soft spot for furry friends, you may have a calling to volunteer with one of Austin’s many animal organizations.
