🌳 It’s easy being green

Did you know the average Austinite generates ~4 pounds of waste per day (as of 2022)?

Most locals already have a stockpile of reusable bags, cups, and straws, but we’re here to share a few other tips + tricks to keeping Austin green.

Buy in bulk or packaging-free when you can

  • H-E-B and Central Market | The bulk bar at your local H-E-B or Central Market is an untapped resource of spices, candy, tea, snacks, coffee, and goodies at your fingertips.

Parker + Scott’s general store offers snacks, sustainable cleaning supplies, gifts, and more in addition to its refill bars.

  • Parker + Scott | Bring your own container (or purchase one in-store) to fill with dish soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, sunscreen, all-purpose cleaner, and more. This general store also sells snacks, plastic-free cleaning supplies, and locally made goodies.
  • Slow North | Slow North’s refill station allows customers to stock up on loose incense, dried flowers, body care, essential oil blends, laundry powder, and more by the ounce.

    AI 🤝 ACL Festival lineup

An aerial view of a large music festival crowd gathered in front of a brightly lit stage in a city park at dusk, with the Austin, Texas skyline visible in the background. The countdown is on for the ACL 2025 festival lineup to drop, and festival lovers everywhere are holding their breath.

We want your help predicting who might perform at the festival for the second year in a row.

Some Redditors have caught Google’s AI assistant “giving away” or predicting the lineup when you search an artist + “ACL Festival 2025,” so we tried it for ourselves using performers on other 2025 lineups.

Note: It’s worth mentioning that Google AI’s results may change over time.

Here are the artists Google told us were scheduled or likely to perform:
    • Vampire Weekend
    • Doechii
    • Shaboozey
    • Sabrina Carpenter
    • Jelly Roll
    • Weezer
Here are the artists Google said were not scheduled to perform:
    • DJO
    • Avril Lavigne
    • Ed Sheeran
    • Kesha
    • LISA
    • Marina

    The Wrap

If Vampire Weekend plays at ACL Festival this year, I will lose my mind.

Longtime readers know they’re my favorite band — I saw them both times they played in ATX last year — and if you look closely at my profile picture, you’ll see I’m wearing a Vampire Weekend T-shirt. If you don’t know their music, start with this song.
