On his two-night “Chromakopia” tour stop at the Moody Center, Tyler, The Creator told the crowd he enjoyed a scoop of the locally beloved ice cream while in town. He didn’t disclose the flavor, but we hope he tried the Mexican vanilla.

The mayor of Flavortown himself — aka Guy Fieri — is permanently enshrined on the wall at this local mini-chain from when he visited with his TV show.
The A-list actor and friends headed across the street from the Austin Convention Center to visit Taqueria De Diez.
Another stop on Lively’s Austin tour, this no-frills hidden taco shop made the list. Lively also shopped at Allen’s Boots and took a dip in Barton Springs Pool.

Experience a weekend of breathtaking hot air balloons, live music, and family fun at the Balloons Over Horseshoe Bay Resort Festival, happening Easter Weekend (April 18-20). Here’s what to expect:
Friday | Kick off the festivities Friday night with a VIP Texas Hill Country Cowboy Cookout + Wine Tasting, live country music, and a stunning balloon glow.
Saturday | Wake up early for the unforgettable balloon ascensions (weather permitting), giant kites, and a helicopter Easter egg drop. The fun continues into the evening with skydivers, kids games, food trucks, and live music.
Sunday | Wrap up the festival with a delicious Easter Brunch and one last chance to see one stationary hot air balloon and five RC balloons take to the sky.
The co-owners of The Hideout Theatre are looking to move the coffee shop and improv stage. The historic building on Congress Avenue — where the Hideout has been since 1999 — is under new ownership that wants to turn the space into a bar. The theater company will move out by September. Tech
Amazon’s autonomous taxi company, Zoox, filed paperwork to purchase warehouse space near the airport to serve as a fleet operations facility. Construction on the warehouse, which will also include mechanics and office space, is expected to begin in April. (KVUE)

Nashville-based restaurant Hattie B’s Hot Chicken has a second Austin location coming to Domain NORTHSIDE in fall 2025. The new spot will have 48 seats in the dining room and 58 seats for patio dining, but if you can’t wait, you can visit the South Lamar Boulevard location in the meantime.

If you flew JetBlue Airways three times or more last year, there’s a good chance you experienced a delay. Around 31% of the airline’s flights arriving at AUS were delayed by at least 15 minutes. On the flip side, ~84% of Republic Airways flights arrived on time last year. (KXAN)

Chef Paul Qui’s hand roll and Yōshoku izakaya restaurant Top Roe launched a new “Tuna Time” happy hour menu with young professionals in mind. Expect bites like the $5 sunomono, $8 hamachi sashimi, and $25 6-ounce bluefin akami tuna steak (which is originally priced at $95 for 8 ounces).

50 years. That’s how long the longest-running American music show “Austin City Limits” has been entertaining folks all around the globe.
The show, which debuted with a performance from none other than Willie Nelson in 1974, will celebrate its semi-centennial with a special two-hour broadcast from 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 4.
Austinites and actors Jared and Genevieve Padalecki will host the program, which will feature archive clips from “Austin City Limits” alumni like Nelson, Dolly Parton, Ray Charles, Townes Van Zandt, and The Chicks, plus more modern performances like Kacey Musgraves, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Noah Kahan, and Jelly Roll.
The special will also include collaborative sets like Billy Strings with Sierra Hull, Gary Clark Jr. with Eve Monsees, and Shawn Colvin with Lyle Lovett.
I like reality TV. There, I said it, so when I saw Love Island All-Stars runner-up Grace Jackson visiting Fort Worth and touring AT&T Stadium in Arlington, I got instant FOMO and a touch of regret that I don’t work at FTWtoday.
