Festivals

Rodeo Austin | Friday, March 14-Saturday, March 29 | Don your cowboy boots and buckle up for a night of carnival rides and bull riding.
A lively group of friends raises their drinks in a celebratory toast at a festively decorated bar. The ceiling is adorned with colorful umbrellas, paper lanterns, and string lights, with green, orange, and white decorations reflecting an Irish or St. Patrick’s Day theme. The crowd is dressed in casual attire, with some wearing green. A man in the foreground, wearing a white hat and green shirt, cheers enthusiastically toward the camera.

Be sure to wear green to avoid being pinched at Jack & Ginger’s.

ATX Open | Tuesday, Feb. 25-Sunday, March 2 | Experience world-class women’s tennis at this professional tournament.
A high-speed racing event unfolds at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, as multiple race cars navigate a sharp turn on the track. A massive Texas flag waves in the foreground, symbolizing the state's pride, while the circuit's iconic red observation tower stands tall in the background. The grandstands are filled with spectators, and the overcast sky adds a dramatic atmosphere to the scene. Sponsor banners line the track, enhancing the competitive energy of the race.

We spy a new hot spot. The Greek Bar, a new venture for restaurateurs and husband-and-wife duo Dimitri Karabinis and Daphne Greer, will begin welcoming guests on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Travis Heights neighborhood.

    What’s on the menu?

Come hungry for a Mediterranean feast, from zesty spreads and shareable mezze to hearty dishes like the “Big Fat Greek Fried Chicken” and whole grilled sea bass. Plus, fill up your table with vegetable-driven sides, wine imported from Greece, handcrafted cocktails, and sweet treats like baklava and Greek donuts. Happy hour and weekend brunch are coming soon.

    Peek inside

The interior, executed by lauded designer Luke Havekes, incorporates original saltillo tiles and terra cotta elements to replicate Greek tavernas. It’s anchored by a plant-adorned bar with glass lamps hanging overhead, and there’s plenty of seating on the patio of the pale blue building. Book a reservation.

    The Buy

A great dermaplaning razor for unwanted facial hair. This reusable, plastic-free one comes with 11 refill blades and can remove dead skin cells, peach fuzz, and hair on the upper lip, cheeks, and eyebrows.

    The Wrap

The image features a name graphic for "Morgan O'Neal," with stylized handwriting in a rich brown color. On the left side, there's a circular portrait of a woman with long, straight hair wearing a leopard-print top. The background behind the portrait is a warm peach color.
After a dinner with City Editor Figi last week, Bar Toti is at the top of my list of restaurant recommendations. If you visit, tell them we sent you, and try the muhammara, sweet corn risotto, chili roasted carrots, and la smashburgesa.
