Development

The Austin Transit Partnership’s newly released Draft Environmental Impact Statement lists Downtown + waterfront stations, an extended bridge over Lady Bird Lake, and an East Riverside urban greenway as new features planned for the upcoming Austin Light Rail. Check out more progress highlights.

Opening

Jupiter Supper Club, a plant-based restaurant + bar at 718 Congress Ave., is currently in its soft opening phase. The new hotspot houses multiple bars, a speakeasy-style jazz room, and an atrium. Book a reservation or snag one of the 90 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Transit

CapMetro will introduce tap-to-pay technology in March. New validators are currently being installed to allow riders to use debit + credit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay to buy their bus and train fares. Plus, the CapMetro app will be retired and replaced by Umo and Transit.

Santa Rita Ranch in Liberty Hill was one of the top-selling master-planned communities in the US last year, according to a new list by Robert Charles Lesser & Co. The neighborhood — which boasts waterslides, a play park, and Hill Country views — ranked No. 18 nationally.

The tiny town of Round Top, an antique haven ~80 miles east of Downtown Austin, will come alive for its Winter Antique Show Thursday, Jan. 23-Sunday, Jan. 26.

We’re sharing must-visit spots to add to your itinerary — all you need to do is pack your car, put on your cowboy boots, and gear up for a weekend of treasure hunting.

Before we dive in — here are a few things to know about The Round Top Antiques Shows:
  • The festivals take place within a 20-mile radius, which includes the communities of Round Top, Warrenton, Carmine, Burton, and Fayetteville. Be ready to walk.
  • Free parking lots and ~$5 parking can be found all along Texas State Highway 237.
  • Each shop and venue is independently owned and operated.
