Development

Construction on the Barton Creek streambank portion of the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail is set to begin on Tuesday, Nov. 26 and last through summer 2025. The project will stabilize the slope in that area and there will be detours along Toomey Road.

Number

$288,000. That’s how much money Austin City Council approved toward upgrading city trails and crossings to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. A portion of the funding came from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program. (KXAN)

    Kimbal Musk, the restaurateur and entrepreneur brother of Elon Musk, is bringing a new location of The Kitchen to Austin.

    The farm-to-table restaurant will open in an 8,300-sqft, two-story space on Thursday, Nov. 14 on the ground floor of the Sixth and Guadalupe tower Downtown.

    The Kitchen will focus on American food with global influences — sourcing ingredients like Akaushi beef and quail from Texas when possible. Signature dishes will include grilled oysters, gluten-free crab fried rice with Thai lime-nam jim, tagliatelle with duck confit, and Urfa carrots with whipped feta.

    The Kitchen will begin serving dinner daily at 4 p.m., with brunch and lunch service planned to open in the future. Make a reservation.
