There’s a new sports club in town: Austin’s first dedicated padel facility.
Focusing on padel — a cross between tennis and squash that originated in Mexico, usually played in doubles on an enclosed court — Padel Club Austin will celebrate its grand opening for newbies and padel pros alike from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Inside the club, Austinites will find nine courts, a lounge and viewing area, an on-site cantina, space for food trucks, and a pro shop. For those looking to train, Padel Club will provide professional coaching and lessons for players of all skills.
While the club has been open for reservations since April, the grand opening will allow the public to enjoy open play, take a yoga class, explore amenities, and more. Join the waitlist.
In case you missed it, Editor Morgan and I visited Austin’s new Lip Lab location last week and had a blast creating lip products tailored to our vision. My favorite creation was a deep berry lip gloss with gold glitter that I named “Alpha,” which you can order online if you’d like to try my bespoke color for yourself.
