Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ will not reopen its Buda restaurant, owners confirmed. The barbecue restaurant, which started in Austin as a food truck, originally closed (with plans to reopen) earlier this year due to owing ~$2.3 million to the City of Buda and landlords. The beaver is coming to San Marcos. Buc-ee’s will open a San Marcos Travel Center, beginning construction on Tuesday, Oct. 1 with plans to open in December 2025. The project is expected to cost ~$47 million and include 120 gas pumps and 100 EV charging spots. (KXAN)

Texas State University is eyeing international expansion into Mexico. If the university’s board of regents vote this week to approve a proposed 10-year, $10 million contract for the satellite campus, the facility would be built in Querétaro, Mexico. (KVUE)
