Cuantos Tacos branched out with hamburguesas at this new concept at Arbor Food Park. The Mexican-style smash burgers come in four styles: Hawaiiana, Campechana, Americana, and Sincronizada.

Chef Laila Bazahm’s restaurant, inspired by Barcelona’s El Raval neighborhood, centers on Spanish cuisine with North African, Middle Eastern, and Asian influences.

The latest concept from Chef Tyson Cole’s Uchi and Uchiko, Uchibā is designed to be a gathering space for trying classic bites and yakitori grill items, while also serving cocktails and a range of Japanese whiskies.

The team behind Lucky Robot is branching out into Yucatán-inspired fare with this new space, which will offer a gluten-free menu with influences from Lebanese, pan-African, and Portuguese food.

Flo, a 100-year-old pecan tree at Barton Springs Pool, will be removed on Thursday, Oct. 5 due to brittle cinder fungus, which is making the tree fragile and could compromise safety for visitors. The city will host a celebration of life for Flo on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Sports
ESPN’s “College GameDay” is headed back to Texas for the annual Red River Rivalry game between No. 3 Texas and No. 12 Oklahoma, which will be the first time the two teams have faced each other with undefeated records since 2011. Last year, the Longhorns defeated Oklahoma 49-0. (Austin American-Statesman)

A multi-family development just south of Mueller will bring 204 new affordable housing units to East Austin. Seabrook Square will be available for households earning at or below 60% of the median family income, and include 10 live-in studios for local artists.
Civic
The Austin Police Department’s 911 call center has reduced vacancies from 69 open positions last October to 39 open positions as of last week. Currently, 911 calls in Austin are answered in 15 seconds or less about 73% of the time, compared to a national standard of 90%. (Austin American-Statesman)

Krannich Solar Central announced plans to open a 28,000-sqft warehouse and showroom in Buda. The business aims to hire 40 local employees and move into the space by the end of 2023. (Austin Business Journal)
