Don’t these mangonadas from Hay Elotes look refreshing? | Photo by @wkn.dr
Austinites know having an icy beverage in hand is one of the best ways to keep the good times rolling through the hot summer months. To inspire you, we’ve rounded up a few — just a few — of the best frozen drink menus in ATX.
We wouldn’t let a triple-digit day get us down, would we?
Alcoholic
Better Half Coffee & Cocktails | 406 Walsh St.
This restaurant’s 7-Eleven-inspired “Sloppee” menu offers four frozen drinks, including The Barefoot Confresca, which contains mezcal, aperol, watermelon, and lime.
Kitty Cohen’s | 2211 Webberville Rd.
This East Austin bar offers delicious frozen drinks, including the Dreamsicle with vodka, citron, orange juice, and vanilla, a frosé with strawberry and lemon, and a swirl of the two.
Kitty Cohen’s frozen Dreamsicle cocktail can also be swirled with frosé.
Austin Daiquiri Factory | 2000 E. 12th St.
This space offers 16 signature frozen flavors — like the Keep Austin Weird, which contains CBD — with add-ons and toppings like gummy bears, jello shots, and infused sour snakes.
Nickel City | 1133 E. 11th St.
Nickel City’s frozen Chi-Chi includes pineapple, aloe liqueur, coconut, and green tea, but they may be best known for their frozen Irish Coffee, which is made with Irish whiskey, coffee liqueur, and cream.
Nickel City is a favorite hangout spot for East Austinites.
Hay Elotes | 2214 E. 7th St.
You can opt for ice cream or a smoothie at this spot for Mexican street food, but we suggest a signature mangonada.
Yard Bar | 6700 Burnet Rd.
Try a frozen boozy drink at this dog-friendly space, or keep it cool with your best pup and a non-alcoholic frozen lemonade.
Eskimo Hut | 1045 Norwood Park Blvd.
Featured combos include the Malibu Barbie with piña colada, peach, raspberry, and cream, and the Ziggy Marley with strawberry, kiwi, and watermelon. All frozen daiquiris at this North Austin spot are also available without alcohol.

We all know that Austin is a special place with a never-ending supply of things to do, see, and experience. That got us thinking — we already spend our days helping you get the most out of our city. So what if we curated a collection of guides that will be updated and available anytime to help you navigate all our great city has to offer?
That’s just what we’ve done. Say hello to ATXtoday’s City Guide, your ultimate digital destination for the best ways to get out there and learn about the city you love.
We’ve broken the guides into three categories:
LIVE — Schools, neighborhoods, and unwritten rules of the city
WORK — Top industries, startups, and great spots to work outside
That just scratches the surface. We’ve got guides to local Airbnb and Vrbo rentals, navigating the airport, volunteer opportunities around town, and even where you and your pooch can grab a drink together.
Ready to get to know your city even better? Check out the link below. And if there’s a guide you’d love to see, send us a suggestion because this list of guides will just keep growing.
Oh, and one more thing. For all you marketing folks out there, we have one exclusive sponsorship available. We will feature your brand next to everywhere the guides appear in the newsletter, website, and social media. It’s an opportunity that won’t last long, so drop us a line.

The world has Barbie fever right now, and I’m here for it.
City Editor Figi and I recently got a sneak preview of some delicious Barbie-themed drinks at Lefty’s Brick Bar. My favorite was the Malibu DreamHouse, a frozen painkiller with pink swirl, whipped cream, and sprinkles. Order the specials yourself starting this Friday, July 21.
