Make your voice heard this election season. | Photo by ATXtoday
Austinites are showing up to vote this election cycle, and a few local businesses are rewarding those doing their civic duty. 🗳
Nearly 4% of registered voters in Travis County cast their ballots on the first day of early voting, Mon., Oct. 24; and by Thurs., Oct. 27, 9.7% of registered voters had made their voices heard. If you haven’t already, be sure to pick up your “I voted" or "Yo voté” sticker on the way out.
It’s important to note that even though giving out free goodies for voters is meant to boost voter participation, the practice is technically illegal when a federal candidate is on the ballot. However, businesses are rarely penalized for offering freebies.
Here’s where you can get some goodies with a voting sticker.
Cuppa Austin Coffee | Now-Fri., Nov. 4 + Tues., Nov. 8 | 9225 W. Parmer Ln. | Bring in your sticker as proof of your patriotism and get either a free small drip coffee or 50% off any drink. ☕️

Texas is hot — both literally and figuratively. 🔥
Texas cities were all over the 2023Emerging Trends in Real Estate list — put together by the Urban Land Institute and PricewaterhouseCoopers — and Austin remains in the top five hottest markets of the US and Canada. The study measures overall real estate prospects for the coming year.
Here’s how Texas’ most desirable markets stack up:
No. 2: Dallas-Fort Worth
No. 4: Austin
No. 12: San Antonio
No. 14: Houston
Given Austin’s explosive growth and proclivity for new development, the city falls into the “Supernova" category, which is defined by “tremendous and sustained population and job growth,” high “economic diversity and white-collar employment,” and likelihood to remain on that trajectory.
Though the capital city falls behind Nashville, Dallas, and Atlanta, Austin’s placement has not wavered since the 2022 report. However, Dallas shot up a staggering five places, surpassing Austin for the first time since 2019.
THE WRAP
Today’s issue was written by Figi.
Editor’s pick: I’m a big Mobley fan, so I’m very excited about seeing him live and for free on Sun., Nov. 6. I highly recommend giving his music a chance if you’re trying to get into Austin’s local music scene.
