If you thought festival season ended with ACL, you thought wrong.
You can be part of history at the first-ever Lucktoberfest — the newest three-day “anti-festival” at Willie Nelson’s own private Luck Ranch. This year’s festival will take place from Fri., Oct. 28-Sun., Oct. 30.

This isn’t Luck’s first rodeo — Luck Presents, a cultural collective based on Willie’s property, has been throwing its one-day “anti-festival” called Luck Reunion since March 2012 . The fall-themed Lucktoberfest originally had 10 days of live music planned, but scaled back to three earlier this month “due to the uncertainty of the touring market.”
Here’s a peek at what the inaugural Lucktoberfest will look like:
🐴 The venue | 1100 Bee Creek Rd., Spicewood | Luck Ranch was originally built in 1985 to use as a backdrop for the film adaptation of Willie’s album, “The Red Headed Stranger.” Willie kept the property, and now lets 70+ rescued horses roam. The ranch is a quaint, tiny Western town, complete with multiple stages and yet-to-be-announced food vendors.
🎵 The music | Doors open at 5 p.m.
- Friday | The lineup features Paul Cauthen’s Big Velvet Revue, Los Lobos + surprise special guests.
- Saturday | Orville Peck and Tanya Tucker will fittingly headline a “far-west cowboy-themed masquerade ball and fashion show” alongside Disko Cowboy, Jonathan Terrell, and Texas-based fashion designers.
- Sunday | The last night is headlined by Alex Meixner + Shinyribs, with more performances from Walt & Tina Wilkins, Sunny Sauceda, Walburg Boys, Alpenmusikanten, Tanzenfest, and Yodel Blitz. Plus, catch family-friendly trick-or-treating and German-inspired entertainment such as polka dancing and beer-stein holding.
🎟 The tickets | General admission single-day tickets start at $35, or $125 for a premium day pass. The ranch is ~45 minutes away by car, so you should also be prepared to purchase a $25 parking pass or $40 round-trip shuttle pass.
❤️ The cause | $1 from every ticket sold goes to benefit the Central Texas Food Bank through the Luck Family Foundation, with a goal of creating at least 100,000 meals through the event.
