Field Guide Festival | April
If you fancy farm-to-table food, this is the festival for you. Local chefs and local farmers join forces to create delicious morsels at this intimate festival that benefits the Central Texas Food Bank.

Hot Luck Fest | May
This festival by hyperlocal foodies for hyperlocal foodies was created in part by famed chef Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue. It’s not just great food and drinks at this fest — you can also find great live music, bites in unique venues all over the Hill Country, and artistic experiences. Plus, this festival occasionally pops up in cities across the country.

Funk n’ Sour Fest | October
If you move quickly, you can still go to this festival of thoughtful local food and drink pairings in the delightful fields of Jester King Brewery. This year’s festival will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23 — get more info.

Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival | October
An extra long festival set in the luscious Hill Country, this event offers casual fun, formal parties, curated meals, brunch, and up-close encounters with experts in the field. Tickets are still available for this year’s fest.

Texas Monthly BBQ Fest | November
There’s no better place to enjoy smoked meats than in the Barbecue Capital of Texas with some of the foremost experts + pit masters in the Lone Star State. Head to Lockhart for two days of good eatin’, featuring bites from locals like Interstellar BBQ, La Barbecue, and KG BBQ. Get tickets.

Austin Food & Wine Festival | November
If you often find yourself with too many wines, not enough time, Austin Food & Wine Festival will indulge the vinophile in you. This three-day festival has plenty of bites and even more wines to try — not to mention sessions, demos, and tastings with chefs from around the globe. Snag tickets.

Austin Mac + Cheese Festival | November
Lovers of this comfort food can chow down on unique variations of mac + cheese to their heart’s delight. This year will feature an island theme, 19 mac + cheese creations, plus dessert. Grab tickets.
