Take a first look at Paperboy’s new restaurant in south Austin

Paperboy South features an expansive kitchen, a covered patio with room for 65 guests, and a walk-up window for grabbing bites + bevs on the go.

A modern restaurant interior featuring a long green terrazzo bar with round leather stools, open kitchen in the background, and a row of two-person booths with olive green cushions and white tiled walls. Warm lighting, floor-to-ceiling windows, and wood accents create an airy, inviting atmosphere.

Paperboy South’s dining room is flooded with light (thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows) and seats 52 guests.

Oh boy, the wait is over. One of Austin’s most popular brunch restaurants will open a new location on South Lamar Boulevard on Tuesday, June 10.

Here’s what to know about Paperboy South.

What’s on the menu?

You’ll find returning Paperboy favorites (like the Texas Hash, Paperboy Pancake, and B.E.C. Sandwich) on the menu, alongside homemade pastries, coffee by Superthing, and boozy beverages. Plus, this location’s larger kitchen will allow chefs to experiment and roll out new dishes, so stay tuned.

A vibrant brunch spread displayed on a wooden table, featuring dishes like blueberry pancakes with bacon and eggs, smoked salmon with toast, granola with fresh fruit, a sweet potato hash, and a frosted slice of cake. Drinks include an espresso martini, matcha latte, black coffee, and a cocktail garnished with a dried citrus slice. A colorful checkered booth lines the back of the table.

Psst — the team behind Paperboy South plans to collaborate with other local brands for special pastry case takeovers.

Inside the space

Sit at the custom green terrazzo bar for a front-row view of the kitchen bustle, or cozy up in a two-person booth flanked by tile walls.

The interior of Paperboy South features booths made out of white tile with patchwork-patterned cushions. The walls are wooden and have a black and white photograph hanging.

Paperboy South’s interior was designed by Chioco Design and Kempt Studio.

But wait, there’s more

A covered patio will provide space for another 65 guests, while a walk-up window will allow folks to pick up to-go orders with ease.
