These aren’t the forts you built as a kid.

Fortlandia is an annual immersive art exhibit featuring forts built by different local artists and designers.

The colorful structures resemble childhood pillow forts, but with a twist. This year’s pieces represent the beauty of art + nature, and are accompanied by a bonus installation organized by The Trail Conservancy on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.

Fortlandia is located at the Lady Bird and Johnson Wildflower Center’s Luci and Ian Family Garden. Ticket costs vary, but admission is free for members + UT Austin students, faculty, and staff.

Fortlandia 2022 will run through Jan. 29, 2023, so pick up a passfort and get ready to explore.
