8 Mardi Gras celebrations in Austin

The countdown to Fat Tuesday is on — here’s where you can eat king cake, sip daiquiris, and grab beads in ATX during Mardi Gras.

A vibrant Mardi Gras-themed feast is spread across a table, featuring a bowl of New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp with toasted bread, a po' boy sandwich filled with lettuce and crispy seafood, a golden-brown king cake drizzled with green, yellow, and white icing, and a plate of flaky, crescent-shaped meat pies. Beaded necklaces in purple, green, and gold decorate the table, along with a small candle casting a warm glow. A bottle of hot sauce and a classic cocktail with a lemon garnish complete the festive setting.

Indulge in Mardi Gras foods like housemade king cake, oyster po’boys, and barbecued shrimp at Uptown Sports Club.
