Austinites will come together to celebrate the legacy of beloved local band Nané this week.
The City of Austin classified April 7 as “Nané Day” in 2022, shortly before the death of lead singer, Daniel Sahad, who was 29 . Friends, fans, and fellow band members will gather for an evening of live music in celebration of his life at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 7 at Empire Garage (606 E. 7th St.).
The concert will begin with a performance from Jefferson Clay — who performed with Nané during their ACL Festival set in 2021 — before Nané takes the stage with Quentin Arispe of The Past Lives on lead vocals.
Nané co-creator and guitarist Ian Green said they will perform the entirety of the band’s discography . This will be Nané's first performance since 2022.
Tickets start at $20 each and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the SIMS Foundation.
