ACL Festival weekend two headlines you may have missed

From surprise celeb duets to friendship bracelets and festival fashion lessons, here’s everything Austin is still buzzing about.

Role Model wears a white cowboy hat and long-sleeve shirt sings into a microphone while facing Lizzy McAlpine in a red shirt and jeans on stage. Both are smiling and leaning toward each other as a drummer plays in the background during a lively ACL Fest 2025 performance.

Six days of ACL Fest 2025 are officially done and dusted, and weekend two did not disappoint. From surprise guests to playful stage antics, here’s a look back at some of the festival’s most memorable moments.

Lizzy McAlpine was Role Model’s “Sally”

After Hilary Duff’s surprise cameo during weekend one, fans packed Role Model’s set in hopes of another big reveal during “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out.” This time, he brought out singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine. We only wish she’d stayed to perform her hit song “Spring into Summer.”

Sabrina Carpenter sang a song with The Chicks and “arrested” Olivia Dean

Pop’s reigning “it” girl kept the surprises coming, inviting The Chicks to join her for a rendition of “Wide Open Spaces.” During “Juno,” Sabrina jokingly “arrested” fellow ACL performer Olivia Dean with a pair of fluffy pink handcuffs.

Plus, after playfully cuffing Joe Keery during weekend one, Sabrina sparked romance rumors when she was spotted at the Djo show on Friday, Oct. 10 at the Moody Theater. Could a love song set in Austin be next?

T-Pain learned his lesson

Festival fashion is half the fun, but T-Pain proved practicality matters, too. After sweating through a leather suit during weekend one, the rapper opted for shorts this time around.

ATXtoday gave away 100 friendship bracelets

During weekend two, editors Figi and Morgan met 100 festivalgoers who scored custom friendship bracelets after subscribing to ATXtoday. The bracelets were inspired by this year’s ACL Fest merch — read about how they were made in collaboration with local business Sea of Beads.
