Top off your weekend at The Hat and Floral Bar

This weekend-only micro shop lets you design a hat, shop local makers, and leave with a bouquet in hand.

A colorful hat customization shop features wooden walls lined with decorative accessories and materials. On the left, large spools of ribbon in various colors—ranging from mustard yellow to deep red and muted brown—are mounted on a wall rack. Below them, patterned scarves hang neatly. A vintage-style white glass wall sconce lights the workspace. In the center, a shelf displays lace, fabric bands, and beaded hatbands hanging from black hooks, with small signs reading “Build a Hat” and showing hat style options. To the right, wide-brimmed hats in neutral and pastel tones sit stacked on circular shelves, with more hats and small accessories arranged on a display table in front of a mirror. Decorative elements like dried flowers, feathers, and ornate frames add to the boutique’s eclectic and rustic charm.

The Hat and Floral Bar allows you to create a one-of-a-kind hat that captures your personality.

You’ve heard of tiny homes, but what about tiny shops?

In front of Sign Bar and Lao’d Bar in east Austin, local businesses housed inside four trailers make up The Shops at Sign Bar. One is The Hat and Floral Bar, where customers can design custom hats, shop for handcrafted jewelry, and pick up colorful flower bouquets.

The shops are typically open on weekends only, so you’ll want to follow along on Instagram for hours updates and announcements about special events like steak nights + pop-up markets.

A row of modern, angular tiny buildings with glass fronts and red trim sits beneath tall, leafless trees at sunset. In front of the buildings is a large silver sculpture spelling out the word “idea” in lowercase letters. The structures appear to house small retail shops, with clothing visible through the windows. String lights hang above the building entrances. The foreground features a sandy courtyard with a black sandwich board sign, a metal chair and table, and a small trailer labeled "Blueberry Sno" with a painted image of blueberries. Several parked cars and additional trees are visible in the background.

Whether you’re visiting Sign Bar or Lao’d Bar, you’ll want to carve out some time to stop in these shops.
