Matthew and Camila McConaughey debut tequila brand

The McConaughey’s new tequila brand Pantalones Organic Tequila — made in Amatitán, Jalisco — pokes fun at the celebrity tequila industry and is now available online.

The celebrity tequila industry “could use a kick in the pants,” if you ask Matthew and Camila McConaughey.

The local husband-and-wife celebrity duo announced the release of their new spirit, Pantalones Organic Tequila, on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The tequila collection includes Blanco, Resposado, and Añejo, priced at $45-$55 per bottle.

The McConaugheys paired the release with a cheeky video (pun intended) — saying that the “world doesn’t need another celebrity tequila,” but “Pantalones Organic Tequila is the best thing we’ve made with our pants on” in a release — while riding motorcycles sin pantalones.

The duo already has their hands in a host of other projects: Both run the Just Keep Livin Foundation and are authors, while Matthew is a minority owner of Austin FC.
