It’s east meets west at this fusion restaurant, where you can try dishes like sake mac & cheese, the “Texas Monster” roll, and egg roll nachos.

Ethan Huynh created this sushi restaurant and boba tea shop out of love for his daughter, Ava, so you can chow down on some of her favorite dishes.

This omakase experience is headed by Tokyo-born Chef Endo Yasuhiro, who serves 20-course meals and specializes in Edo Era techniques (like dry aging and smoking).
Kappo Kappo | 600 W. 2nd St.
The French-Japanese omakase restaurant — owned by twin brothers Haru and Gohei Kishi — serves a 12-course meal with bites including an A5 wagyu and toro tartare gougére, otoro tuna sushi, wagyu ribeye + striploin, and rice ice cream.

Located inside the South Congress Hotel, you’ll need a reservation to get a seat at this 12-spot omakase dinner served by Chef Yoshi Okai.

This intimate 10-seat, 17-course omakase experience is well worth the splurge, starting at $159 per person. Psst — reservations drop on the first of each month and fill up quickly.

Tucked inside an unassuming office building, this MICHELIN-recommended omakase experience seamlessly blends Texas flavors into the Japanese technique. With just 12 seats at the counter and two seatings per night, Tare makes for an unforgettable experience.
Toshokan | 807 E. 4th St.
Expect a 14-course dinner with only six seats when you dine at this sushi speakeasy, which is hidden in plain sight.
Sushi by Scratch | Multiple locations
Sushi is an experience at these top-notch omakase restaurants, where you sit in a group of 10 or fewer. Pricing starts at $195 per person — which includes a welcome cocktail and canapés — and the tasting menu will give you a chance to taste 16+ bites.
