The Austin Parks Foundation’s 20th edition of It’s My Park Day is this Saturday, Nov. 4.

The bi-annual initiative gathers volunteers to help beautify, restore, and clean up Austin’s green spaces. This includes mulching Patterson Park’s heritage oak trees , top-secret litter clean-ups at Roy G. Guerrero Metro Park, removing invasive plants from Seiders Springs Park , and many more.

There’s still time to volunteer for many of the projects. Every volunteer will receive a free T-shirt, which will act as a (same-day only) coupon for free goodies:

  • One free small shake from any Austin-area P-Terry’s Burger Stand
  • One free Parks & Rec beer from Zilker Brewing Taproom, 1701 E. 6th St.
  • Buy one, get one free beer from Big Country Taproom, 2400 Patterson Industrial Dr.

Most events take place from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Laura Figi has called Austin home for more than 12 years and has been known to say it’s her “favorite city in the world.” A proud graduate of Texas State University, she’s been working in local news since 2020. When she’s not working and learning about the community, you can find her at the local thrift shop, spending time with her two cats, or listening to live music.
