Where to eat + drink on Texas Longhorn game days

Get your horns (and pinkies) up — here’s where to get the best deals when the Longhorns take the field.

Two orange cocktails, one with the Texas Longhorn logo attached to it, sit on a white table in front of buckets of beer. In the background, large green plants reach to the ceiling of an outdoor patio.

Football season is back — and we’re donning our burnt orange until further notice.

If you’re hitting the town on Saturdays to cheer on the Longhorns, here are some food and drink specials you won’t want to miss.

The Long Goodbye | If you’d rather watch the game from a big screen, head to this bar on Manor Road for free snacks (while supplies last) and all-day drink specials like $18 buckets of beer + canned cocktails and $10 game day cocktails and frozens.

Swim Club | When the Longhorns play at home, local influencer @atasteofkoko will host Club Koko tailgates on The Lawn at Swim Club. Chefs will join to serve up special bites, and attendees can sip beverages like the “Club Koko Frozen Still Austin Gin Cocktail” and the “Longhorn Lemonade.”

Skinny’s Off Track Bar | Bring your pup to watch the game at this sports bar offering $10 mimosa buckets and $15 beer buckets on UT game days.

Scholz Garten | Hailed as the longest-running private tailgating party in Texas, Saturdays during football season typically feature food + drink specials, live music, DJ sets, and local vendor markets.

A yellow cocktail with Tajin on the rim sits in the center of a table filled with food, including a seafood boil, deviled eggs, and burger, and oysters.

Bring your appetite (and your Longhorn pride) to dig into this spread at TLC Austin.

TLC Austin | Big Tex College Football Tailgate watch parties include a game day food menu (which sports a “40 Acres” seafood boil) and drinks like the “Bevo’s Burnt Orange Rita.”

Haymaker | Head over to this bar’s Instagram to find its weekly game day specials, which have included $10 breakfast plates, $3 Jell-O shots, and $4 well drinks.

Walton’s Fancy & Staple | Owned by Sandra Bullock, this eatery slings a to-go tailgate menu (think barbecue sliders, chicken salad croissants, Texas caviar, and more) available for pre-order and pick-up. Psst — don’t skip the football-themed cookies.

Uptown Sports Club | This season, game day deals at the New Orleans-inspired restaurant have included $20 pitchers of beer, discounted beer, and food specials.
