13. That’s how many years it has been since Austin Community College increased its tuition, and the school announced it will keep the cost stable for the 2026-2027 school year. That’s one of the longest freezes in the country for a two-year public school. (Austin American-Statesman)

After a smash hit opening on Downtown’s Congress Avenue, Japanese grocery store HokkaiSan is opening a new, bigger location in north Austin.
Located at 13701 N. Hwy. 183, the new shop has yet to announce an opening date. Figi here — as a north Austin resident, and a lover of HokkaiSan’s grab-and-go sushi, I couldn’t be more thrilled.
This No. 1 best-selling jelly tote bag that we’re low-key obsessed with for spring and summer. The tip-proof design keeps your tote upright, but it still folds flat to pack or store. It’s also waterproof, easy to clean, and carry-on approved — hello, beach vacay bag. Grab your favorite color (we like iridescent) and let the compliments pour in.
A while back, I read “Titanic Survivor” by Violet Jessop, who was one of 20 female crew members to survive the sinking ship. If that wasn’t remarkable enough, she was also on the Britannic when it sank four years later and survived that disaster as well.
