If the house tour is your favorite part of every social gathering, this event is for you. Preservation Austin’s 2026 Homes Tour returns this Saturday, April 18 + Sunday, April 19, showcasing 10 historic homes that have played a unique part in shaping Austin’s architectural footprint.
This year’s tour will feature a Victorian home from the late 1890s, a World War II-era duplex, a Montopolis neighborhood home (a first for the tour), and a 1960s-built apartment building. Figi here — the annual Homes Tour is a phenomenal way to spend the weekend if you’re an architecture buff.
ATX TV Festival announced it will show a first look at the upcoming season of “House of the Dragon” during this year’s event. Decorated showrunner Bill Lawrence, known for his work on “Ted Lasso” and “Scrubs,” will also stop by for a conversation. Grab tickets.

Mansion Monday
"The Onyx.” This mansion of the week is so exceptional, it has its own name. Perched atop a hill in Westlake Hills, The Onyx features sparkling views of Downtown from one of its many decks, a private theater, a swim-up bar at the pool, a library, and a fourth-floor outdoor parlor.

Don’t get yourself in a pickle this National Pickleball Month without a place to play. Whether you’re new to the sport or chasing your next open play session, head to one (or all) of these Capital City spots.
Ranked
Texas clocked in at No. 21 on a new WalletHub ranking of the best states for working from home. The report weighed factors like internet costs, home size, and cybersecurity, but we’d argue there’s one more metric that matters: great outdoor work spots. Luckily, Austin delivers.

I didn’t know much about her breed, or how to best care for her. Thanks to Embark’s Breed + Health Dog DNA Test, that’s all changed. I’ve learned Meredith is a mix of American Pit Bull, Australian Cattle Dog, Dalmatian, and that she may be at higher risk for Intervertebral Disc Disease. Now I can take proactive steps to support her health — like keeping her on a balanced diet and opting for a harness over a collar to help reduce strain on her spine.
Try Embark for your dog, discover their unique DNA, and give them the best possible care.
I am once again reminding you that the Second Street Garage and Fifth Street Garage are offering free parking for up to two hours when you visit select nearby businesses through the end of April. Just in case you’ve been putting off your Downtown visit.
