The Paramount Theatre’s annual Summer Classic Film series will return starting on Friday, May 22. While the full lineup isn’t here yet, opening night’s films are (drum roll please) “Casablanca” and “The Maltese Falcon” in a 35mm double feature.
But wait, there’s more. Expect a 25th anniversary screening of “Spy Kids” with director Robert Rodriguez, and “Twilight,” featuring appearances from Alice and Jasper actors Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone.
Psst — this will be the last Summer Classic Film series before the theater closes for its Shine On revitalization project.

Ranked
Austin is the No. 9 best large metro area for home buyers in the country (and No. 82 best overall) based on factors like price per sqft, number of homes on the market per 100,000 people, school quality, and crime rate, according to a study from Consumer Affairs. Psst — 8.7% of homes are sold above list price.
Eat
Tell us something we don’t know, but Austin ranked the No. 7 best US city for food and drink, and the No. 1 best city for coffee in the country, according to Food & Wine Magazine.
Watch
Warning: The following clip might induce nostalgia. KVUE posted a clip of what grocery shopping in Austin looked like at H-E-B in 1992. Figi here — I wasn’t around yet in 1992, but my takeaways are that everyone is wearing a watch and the hair is big, even for Texas standards.

I get to go check out Senza Maeso, a San Marcos tasting room serving up a unique type of spirit, on my way to a wedding in the Hill Country this weekend. Made from gooseberry and aged with herbs, the hybrid spirit is said to taste bright and fruity, yet herbaceous and a bit bitter.
I’m really excited to tell y’all what I think, but in the meantime, you can check out these locally made spirits.
