I Live Here I Give Here’s annual Amplify Austin Day — a fundraising effort that encourages Central Texas residents to give back to nearly 800 local nonprofits over a 24-hour period — starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 and lasts through 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 5.
Here’s how it works: Folks search for a nonprofit or category they’re passionate about and donate at least $5. Community members can also become Fundraiser Champions, and companies can set up Business Fundraisers.
Even if you don’t donate directly, you can still support the cause at local businesses. Check out these opportunities:
You have until 7 p.m. (or 10 p.m. at certain locations) on Friday, Feb. 27 to cast your vote early for the ongoing primary election. Election day is Tuesday, March 3 — find a polling place near you.

Last night I celebrated a friend’s birthday with a dinner at Lucky Robot — a longtime favorite of mine. Nothing hits quite like the SEA-3PO roll and crispy brussels sprouts. Psst — the restaurant’s $65 five-course, prix-fixe dinner currently benefits Lively Middle School through the 60 Days of Giving Program.
