🔊 Amplify the community

A vintage-style red neon sign for the Austin Motel stands against a partly cloudy sky. Below the main sign, a marquee board displays the message "LET'S AMPLIFY AUSTIN Y'ALL." A covered entrance with colorful neon lights and a small "VACANCY" sign is visible in the foreground.

I Live Here I Give Here’s annual Amplify Austin Day — a fundraising effort that encourages Central Texas residents to give back to nearly 800 local nonprofits over a 24-hour period — starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 and lasts through 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 5.

Here’s how it works: Folks search for a nonprofit or category they’re passionate about and donate at least $5. Community members can also become Fundraiser Champions, and companies can set up Business Fundraisers.

Even if you don’t donate directly, you can still support the cause at local businesses. Check out these opportunities:
Early donating is open now. Read our interview with I Live Here I Give Here Executive Director Piper Stege Nelson.

🍷 It’s wine o’clock somewhere

The Wrap

Last night I celebrated a friend’s birthday with a dinner at Lucky Robot — a longtime favorite of mine. Nothing hits quite like the SEA-3PO roll and crispy brussels sprouts. Psst — the restaurant’s $65 five-course, prix-fixe dinner currently benefits Lively Middle School through the 60 Days of Giving Program.
